Get Volunteering Swindon!
Get Volunteering Swindon! is a Swindon-wide opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness of volunteering.

The first ever Get Volunteering Swindon! took place from 14th to 19th January 2008 and played a huge part in raising the profile of Swindon's volunteers while encouraging others to get involved.

Following a big colourful and noisy launch in Swindon town centre on Monday, many activities took place throughout the week to let people know the many different types of volunteering opportunities, just a few of which were:

  • Volunteer Centre Swindon had stands at West Swindon District Centre and Brunel Centre to talk to shoppers about all things volunteering.

  • Residents of The Foyer held an exhibition of their own photography.

  • Treemendous Day Out at Lydiard Park took place on Saturday 8th March having been put back from January due to bad weather. Contact Kitty Stewart on 0845 3000 789 or kitty.stewart@bbc.co.uk, click here for more information.

Even though Get Volunteering Swindon! is over, the search for new volunteers is still on. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to find out more, please call Volunteer Centre Swindon on 01793 420557.
